DIY Rubber Stamp

I wanted to turn the Crafts & Roses logo into a rubber stamp. This project is pretty easy and really relaxing. Here's how I did it!

Materials

Carving Set

Acrylic Block

Rubber Block

Backwards Print Out of Design

Pencil

Double Sided Sticky Tape

Step 1

Flip the print out of the design and using the pencil, color the back of the design.

Step 2

Flip design over again and with the pencil trace the design onto the rubber block. You have to make sure you trace the WHOLE design. Otherwise it's not going to transfer correctly.

Step 3

With the carving set, start carving around the traced design. I used the smallest carving tip for this step.

Step 4

Continue to carve around the design.

Step 5

Using the wide carving tip, carve out the rest of the rubber block.

Step 6

This step is not as complicated as it's going to sound. I printed out my logo a second time, but this time I printed it the correct way (not backwards). I used clear packaging tape and taped over the logo. Then I placed the paper in a bowl of water and let that sit for about a minute. After I just rubbed off the paper from the tape and the logo transfers onto the tape. Then I stuck it onto the other side if the acrylic block to show the stamp design.

Step 7

Once completed, attached the rubber block to the acrylic block. I used double sided sticky tape to do this.

The rubber stamp is complete!! I am so excited about this project. I was going to buy a stamp with my logo on it, but I decided to try to make it instead. I'm so happy with how it turned out, it's not perfect, but I love it. I can't wait to make more stamps with different designs.
