DIY Cactus Piñata

Cinco de Mayo is almost here, which means it's time to throw a fiesta! What's a fiesta, without a piñata?

Step 1

Draw your desired cactus shape into a piece of cardboard. You will need to do this twice.

Step 2

Cutting the sides can be a little tricky. I just cut long pieces of cardboard about 2 inches wide.

Step 3

Tape it all together into a 3D shape. It looks hard to do, but it's like doing a puzzle...sort of.

Step 4

Now for this, you can either use tissue paper (you can see that tutorial in my watermelon piñata blog post) or you can use streamers, like I did here!

You simply wrap the streamer around the piñata layer by layer, using a glue stick.

Step 5

Once your piñata is all wrapped up, you can add some flowers. I used pink streamer for this. Just scrunch the streamer into a little ball and wrap it around a few times, then glue it on.

That's it! Now you have the cutest cactus piñata for your fiesta! Don't forget to check out www.prettylittledetailsco.com to see our full fiesta party design blog post, where this piñata is featured!
